I can’t explain how excited I am to be able to post these photos. I have known Ryan and Lynnsey since my Sophomore year in college and I had the pleasure of seeing them date for the past few years. When they asked me if I would be willing to photograph their engagement photos, I couldn’t refuse. We traveled down to Eureka Springs, Arkansas yesterday and shot around town. Having only been to Eureka Springs once or twice in the past 10 years, we had to take a quick tour of the area for me to get my bearings and some ideas for some photos. Luckily, all of the trees were in their full color change providing some really great backdrops for photos. I am really glad that Ryan and Lynnsey asked me to photograph their engagement photos and I look forward to having the opportunity to see them spend the rest of their lives together.
Any photographer will tell you that shooting a wedding is often a very fun and enjoyable experience, especially if it is for someone you know. Mitch and Kendra came to me about a year ago asking me for my options for weddings. Over the past year, I have gotten to know these two and they made their wedding a blast to be at. Mitch is a photographer from Oklahoma, and needless to say, I was really excited that he asked me to document their big day. Shooting the wedding of another photographer can sometimes be a tough challenge, but Mitch and Kendra gave me creative freedom and allowed me to document their day care-free. The wedding was held at a venue called Creeds Town, a venue full of awesome antique wood, surrounded by fields with tan long grass. It was definitely a change of scenery for me, but one that I was really excited about. They were extremely easy to work with and fun to be around throughout the day. From the banjo playing and the outdoor ceremony to the smores and corn hole, being around these two on such an important day was awesome!
In my last post, I showed images from the Web.com golf Tournament last weekend. I said in that post that I photographed three days of the four day tournament. On Saturday, I photographed the wedding of Garrett and Tessa. These two were awesome to photograph. They were so excited about their wedding day, and it showed on their faces. The day went smoothly and I had a lot of fun photographing their wedding at one of the coolest reception venues. Here are some of my favorite frames from the day. I usually do not get to a preview this quickly, but I was really excited about some of the images I made during today’s wedding. The wedding was held in Chilicothe, Missouri, and was my second wedding in the Northern Missouri area. Warren and Amanda were super easy to work with and were a great couple to photograph. I look foward to seeing what other photographs come out of the wedding, but after a first few looks, these were my favorites. Congratulations Amanda and Warren! *Click on the photographs to see a larger version*
This past weekend, I traded my shorts and a tee shirt for a button-down and “fancy shoes” as I made the switch from sports photographer to wedding photographer over night. My two friends, Brock and Brittani, got married just outside of Kansas City, Missouri, and had asked me to be there to document each part of their big day. All I can say, is that I am so glad I was able to be part of something so awesome and it was such an awesome experience. They were a great couple to photograph, and I look forward to seeing them live out their lives, together. Congratulations Brock and Brittani.
You know, I am continually amazed at the fact that each year is different. Not only is each year different but each season brings about new challenges and events that shape the world we live in. For me, this fall and winter has been one of the most stressful, exciting and most fulfilling times in my life. Just as the leaves changed in the fall and snow comes, I entered a new season in my life on December 18, 2010 by getting married. It was an awesome day and I am excited to see what is in store for our future.
Secondly came a change in something I got to shoot. For the first time, I covered a martial arts belt test. It was something new and different for me and very enjoyable. Below are a few shots from the test. Gallery Link.
Lastly, I shot another great couple that recently got engaged and plan on getting married on New Years Eve 2011. I look forward to sharing that day with them and having more photos taken of another special day. Below are a few of my favorite shots of the engagement session. We took full advantage of several inches of snow that fell the night before and morning of the photo shoot. I have to say that it made for some great photo opportunities. Gallery Link.
Overall, 2011 has already been a very fulfilling year and I can only look forward to what else comes into view of my lens.
My last shoot prior to the Thanksgiving holiday was an engagement session with a couple who is pretty close to my fiancee and I. Todd traveled to India this past summer with my fiancee and thus became her protector for the duration of the trip. All I can say is that I became very grateful for his friendship. Todd and Sarah- Congratulations. I wish only the best for the two of you.
